Junior Road National Championship wrap: 12 new national champions crowned

From day one, the NSW team was a force to be reckoned with, leading the medal tally across the three-day meet. The sky blue team ended up with 16 medals in total, seven gold, five silver and four bronze medals.

This effort rewarded NSW with two Junior U15 Champion of Champions jerseys, one to Benjamin Anderson (NSW) and Keira Will (NSW). In second place on the medal tally was Victoria, who came away with 13 medals in total, four gold, five silver, and four bronze medals. 

Victoria ended the 2019 Road National Championship with two riders, Jackson Hadden and Alyssa Polites, donning the coveted Champion of Champions jersey in the U17 age group. ​

Cycling Australia is pleased to announce that New South Wales will be the host state of the  2020 Junior Road National Championships. Locations and dates will be announced in due course.
Medal Tally
  • New South Wales: 16 medals - 7 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals
  • Victoria: 13 medals - 4 gold, 5 silver, 4 bronze medals
  • Australian Capital Territory: 3 medals - 1 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze medal
  • Queensland: 2 medals - 1 silver, 1 bronze medal
  • Tasmania: 1 medal - 1 bronze
  • South Australia: 1 medal - 1 bronze
