Cycling ACT is pleased to announce the following riders as ACT representatives at the 2019 Cycling Australia Junior Road National Championships to be held at the Gold Coast from September 20-22.
Under 15 Women : Lauren Bates
Lauren goes in to the competition with a great road season behind her. Lauren won silver and bronze medals at the Goulburn and Hunter Junior Tours respectively, and was on the podium for every event at the Canberra Junior and Women’s Tour.
Under 15 Men : Oscar Chamberlain and Eddie Marcks
Oscar continues to shine, having made the podium in every event of the qualifying events in which he competed. A talented cyclist, we look forward to supporting him at this year’s National Championships. Eddie Marcks joins Oscar in the Under 15 category as a valued team member.
Under 17 Women : Claudia Marcks and Lily Stratford
Claudia and Lily have been working hard to produce consistent race results throughout the season. Lily has a strong background in track cycling, and we are keen to see where the road takes her. Claudia and Lily will make a great team, supporting each other in what will be a challenging competition.
Under 17 Men : Harry Jones and Joshua Bates
Harry Jones was in fine form at the recent NSW Junior Road Championships, where he bagged second and fourth places in the Time Trial and Criterium respectively. Riding alongside Harry is Joshua Bates, who will be a great support to other team members. Both Harry and Josh bring knowledge from their previous experiences in the state team.
Congratulations to all these riders whose dedication to cycling throughout these cold winter months has readied them to compete at the national level.
The team will be supported by the following team management personnel:
Manager : Amy Seath
Coach : Stuart Jones
Mechanic : Rod Bates
We thank these volunteers for giving their time and energy to support our young riders at this important event.
Cycling ACT extends its best wishes to the team, along with any other riders travelling to the championships to represent their clubs!
