The future stars of Australian cycling produced some exciting racing at the 2017 Cycling Australia Junior Road National Championships in Tasmania.
Eight titles were awarded across Friday and Saturday in the time trial and road races. Before bad weather caused the cancellation of the criteriums for safety reasons. The under 15 women's category was dominated by Haylee Fuller (NSW/Dubbo Cycling Club) who picked up the time trial and road race double. Dylan Eather (NSW) added another gold for Dubbo Cycling Club in the race against the clock in the under 15 men's event. With Zakk Patterson (QLD/Gold Coast Cycling Club) reversing the time trial result taking gold in the road race ahead of Eather. Francesca Sewell (QLD/Gold Coast Cycling Club) did the time trial and road race double in the under 17 women's category. In the under 17 men's Alastair MacKellar (QLD/Sunshine Coast Cycling Club) delivered another title to Queensland in the time trial. While Kurt Eather (NSW/Dubbo Cycling Club) emerged victorious in the road race.
